CASA: A Solution to a Problem Each month in Travis County, there are more than 1,000 children living in foster care because of abuse or neglect. These children, through no fault of their won, have been removed from their homes and are braving new and unknown territory in a world filled with lawyers, judges and courtrooms. CASA of Travis County, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has been providing a voice for abused and neglected children since 1985. CASA prepares volunteers from the community to speak of the needs of abused children in court, as well as in educational, social and medical settings. By giving generously of their time, heart and voice, CASA volunteers ensure that the world is safer for all our children.
