St. David's Foundation devotes earnings of the St. David's hospitals to a dual mission of improving access to health care and addressing the root causes of health care. The Root Cause Project, created by St. David's, addresses underlying problems that lead to illness in order to improve community health. A visionary program with the potential to influence generations, Root Cause focuses on identifying the behaviors, attitudes and social conditions that contribute to poor health, and then mobilizes community residents to develop solutions and enact positive change. It is a long-term project designed to have lasting impact on our community with measurable results.
