Graves Dougherty Hearon & Moody seeks talented first-year law students to join its 2026 1L Summer Associate Program for an 8-10 week summer experience. As one of Austin’s oldest and most respected law firms, GDHM has a long tradition of mentoring young lawyers and investing early in their professional development.
Our 1L summer associates are treated as integral member if the firm; you will work on substantive matters for real clients, collaborate closely with attorneys across a range of practice areas. Summer associates research legal issues, contribute to work product that is used in active matters, and have the opportunity to observe and participate in client meetings, mediations, depositions, hearings, and other court proceedings.
The program is designed to make your first legal summer a meaningful foundation for your career. Our attorneys are committed to mentorship and hands-on guidance. Our culture is collaborative, collegial, and supportive. We also host a small number of social events to foster connections and provide opportunities to get to know the firm and the Austin legal community, while remaining mindful of your time and commitments outside of work.
