Texas Supreme Court issues favorable ruling for firm client, further strengthens Texas Workers Comp

Today the Texas Supreme Court issued an important decision in favor of the firm’s client Texas Mutual Insurance Company.  Today’s ruling in Texas Mutual Insurance Company v. Morris (per curiam) affirms the Court’s landmark decision earlier this year in Texas Mutual Insurance Company v. Timothy J. Ruttiger holding that Texas robust workers’ compensation system precludes “bad faith” lawsuits.  Today’s ruling in Morris also holds that Texas Mutual did not commit an Insurance Code “misrepresentation” violation by following the Division of Workers’ Compensation procedure for resolving a dispute over a worker’s claim.
