Hon. Rudy Metayer Elected to State Bar of Texas Board of Directors

Graves Dougherty is proud to announce that attorney Rudy Metayer was elected to represent District 9, Place 1 on the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors. In this role, he will be responsible for carrying out the Bar’s mission to: support the administration of the legal system; assure all citizens equal access to justice; foster high standards of ethical conduct for lawyers; enable members to better serve their clients and the public; educate the public about the rule of law; and promote diversity in the administration of justice and the practice of law.

State Bar directors are elected from 17 districts throughout the state. Six public members are appointed by the Supreme Court, three of which come from a list provided to the court by the Governor. Additionally, four at-large directors with full voting privileges are appointed by the president. All directors serve staggered, three-year terms.
