Graves Dougherty attorney Rudy Metayer was recently awarded the 2022 Trailblazer Award by the African American Lawyers Section (AALS) of the State Bar of Texas. The Trailbazer Award recognizes an outstanding attorney who has promoted the interests of justice in the legal profession and the pursuit of issues relevant to African-American Lawyers in Texas.
The award will be presented during the Section’s annual summit and awards luncheon on Saturday, April 23 at Texas A&M University School of Law. Other awardees include the AALS inaugural chair, Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (Legacy Award), Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson (Outstanding Achievement Award), and both Judge Lora Livingston and Judge Brenda Kennedy (Distinguished Jurist Award).
