Attorney Rick Yeomans has a wide range of experience in business and commercial litigation of all types. He has tried jury and non-jury cases, and has pursued and defended appeals, in state and federal courts. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels and More and has spent time serving a number of other non-profit organizations including the United Way, CASA of Travis County and Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas.
Rick is a devoted husband and father–and avid skier. His love of skiing began at the age of five in Austria (his dad was career foreign service). He has skied in numerous locations throughout the country including New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Minnesota and throughout New England.
His best skiing trip to date was heli-skiing in northern British Columbia. They skied in thousands of acres of mountain wilderness; i.e. no trails, just steep forested mountains. His group of five skiers each wore a transponder in case they were caught in an avalanche. They helicoptered to the tops of various mountains, and then skied with a guide through deep, untracked snow. The guide’s role was to help avoid avalanches, and also to avoid cliffs. They had lunch on the mountain and then at the end of the day, took a helicopter back to the lodge.
In order to train for skiing season, he and his wife bike and run several times a week on the Green Belt (the single track trail from Barton Pool through the woods and under Mopac, etc.) with their six-year-old Lab.
